DT Inspiration with Sarah!!

Hi there! I have a quick little tutorial today to add some quick texture to your layouts, cards and other projects.

I created this layout using the October Double Shot kit. I am in LOVE with this Jillibean Soup collection!

I wanted the pictures to be the focus on this one so I went easy on the embellishments. To add some texture to this simple design I used embroidery floss and twine. I also wanted to stick with the sewing theme so I added just a few stitches on the page with embroidery floss.

Here's some of my stitches below-

To create some stitches on your own page here's what to do-

Step 1: Using a paper piercer poke holes through the layout where you want your stiches to go that look like this

Step 2: Thread emboidery thread through a sewing need.

Step 3: Place needle through top first hole from the back until only an inch of thread is left behind layout. Using scotch tape, tape that inch of thread to back of layout.

Step 4: Place needle through bottom second hole and pull thread to back of layout. You should have one stich that looks like this:

Step 5: Place the needle through the top second hole and pull all the thread to the front of the layout. Then place needle through bottom first hole and pull all the thread to the back of the layout. You should have another stitch overlapping the first that looks like this:

Step 6: Repeat steps 3-5 starting with the top 3rd hole and continue untill you have four stitches.

When you are done all the thread should be hanging off the back of the layout. Trim it leaving one inch of thread. Tape that inch to the back of the layout.

There you have it! A quick way to add some fun stitches to your layouts.
