Week #48 Weekly Challenge!

I saved the posting of this challenge this evening because I didn't want to crowd out today's Sneak Peek Week post too soon. :)

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Create a layout with at least one of the 12" KI Memories Scribbles script word borders that was included in the November Flavors of the Month Kit.

We didn't receive this item in stock early enough to get it out to our Baristas to use on their layouts this month, so I would so love to see some layouts with these awesome word border strips. I love the font, the swirls, and the long length. I can't wait to see your inspiration! Upload your layout (along with your real life name to the WEEK #48 CHALLENGE FOLDER. All layouts must be uploaded by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, December 6th.

Below is one example by Barista, Brenda Carpenter: (since she lives about 15 minutes away from me, I was able to run her borders over to her right before we uploaded the November gallery. I love that she was able to make the last-minute addition and turned her "Halloween" layout into a "Happy Halloween" layout!)

THE PRIZE: Throughout the month of December, we'll be featuring holiday-themed prize packages. This week's prize package consists of great Christmas papers and embellishments from SEI, American Crafts, Making Memories and more!

CHALLENGE RULES:There are only 2 rules if you want to enter a weekly challenge:
1.) Your submission has to be a new layout created for this challenge. :) You're on your honor here, but the idea of a Weekly Challenge is to finish new layouts and not simply upload old layouts. :) (Your actual layouts can be done in any size - 12x12, 8.5x11, 8x8... whichever size you scrapbook in!)
2.) Please only submit one time for each weekly challenge! (You will need to be registered on our message board to upload your layout to the Challenge Folder gallery. Registration just requires that we confirm your e-mail address so we know you're not a spammer. :) (In order to upload layouts to our gallery, you will need to be sure to resize layouts to no larger than 500x500 pixels and 72-75 dpi. If you're file size is much larger than that, you'll get an error message when attempting to upload. :) )

Please e-mail me at admin@scrap-room.com with your real-life name and address, and we'll get your prize ready to go. :) Check out all of this week's Challenge Entries in our WEEK #47 WEEKLY CHALLENGE GALLERY!

December Sneak Peek Week: Day #5

Today we're showcasing the fourth and final paper line from the December Flavors of the Month Kit. It would be hard for me to choose a favorite layout kit this month - because even though they all have a holiday theme, they are all so different. But, this month's fourth line is the most different of the bunch. It features bright non-traditional colors and the embellishments included (LAYERED CHIPBOARD) is soooo cute! I am pretty stoked about getting to play with this kit, and this layout by Guest Designer, Frances Sylvia, inspires me even more! (Don't you just love that "tree" paper - yep, included in the main kit!)

December Sneak Peek Week: Day #4

Day #4 of December Sneak Peek Week brings us a completely different look with the new Girls' Paperie Christmas line. (Don't you just LOVE getting four different lines in one kit!) Barista, Melanie Call, used my favorite patchwork paper for her background in this beautiful layout - quick and easy! So, plan to take a nice family photo this Christmas; you'll now have the perfect background paper to frame it!

December Sneak Peek Week: Day #3

We've got our first look at our December Doubleshot Kit from Barista, Shawnna Samples today. She used the WRMK Merry January kit to create this adorable magnetic frame, a perfect gift that can be customized to match any decor!

This is a piece of sheet metal that is in an L shape. Shawnna covered the front with paper. She turned some of the stickers into magnets and attached a photo of the kids with the magnets. As the kids grow, the photo can be swapped out to keep it fresh.

December Sneak Peek Week: Day #2

Day #2 of our December Sneak Peek Week, and we've got another fun layout from Barista, Lan Amphone. I love how Lan used our Christmas kit to create a decidedly NON-Christmas layout - lots of great possibilities this month!

December Sneak Peek Week: Day #1

Can you believe how quickly November has flown by? Gheesh... I can almost hear the sound of time as it is whooshing past me this month. And, while most of us are gearing up for our big family Thanksgiving Day dinners in a few hours, at The ScrapRoom, we are gearing up for CHRISTMAS with our Sneak Peek Week, which begins today!

We're kicking off our Sneak Peek Week with an adorable layout from Barista, Jenny Moore. Isn't this the cutest photo of her little guy - and doesn't he bear a striking resemblance to another familiar Christmastime face? :)

Week #45 Weekly Challenge!

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: This week's challenge is to use patterned paper as your background instead of cardstock. This would definitely be a challenge for me, as I tend to like a lot of "white-space" to rest my eyes on my layouts. However, I've been seeing lots of beautiful layouts with patterned paper as the background - so your challenge this week is to give it a try!

Upload your layout (PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR REAL LIFE NAME; IT MAKES OUR JOB SO MUCH EASIER!) to the WEEK #45 CHALLENGE FOLDER. All layouts must be uploaded by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, November 15th.
