Welcome Our June Guest Blogger Terry!

Hi. My name is Terry Boyer, and I live in North Tonawanda, NY with my husband and three boys.We like to keep busy, and I like to record all the wonderful memories. Ever since I was a kid, I've loved taking pictures. A love I inherited from my Dad. So when I was invited to a scrapbooking party 10 years ago, I just had to check it out. I started scrapbooking then, and never looked back.

That's me and my oldest son Brad. Dang...I can't believe he turned 17 this year!

What I love about the ScrapRoom:

The kits of course! I love that we get a sampling of four different lines each month. The pretty patterned papers, coordinating cardstock and the embellies shipped right to my door. It's like celebrating my birthday every month. Seriously! I also love the challenge that comes with using papers and embellies I might not normally pick out myself. Sometimes, the kits I think are going to be the hardest to use, end up being my favorites. I love that! I also like Tammy's very generous skip policy, but who would want to skip anyway!

The message board! You won't find a nicer group of ladies on the web. They are encouraging, talented, funny, and well....just plain nice.

The blog! The blog is chock full of ideas, fun challenges, and contests. But my favorite thing on the blog is sneak peek week. Oh, and once, they let me host it!

5 Random Facts about ME:

1. My absolute, hands down favorite color is PINKI! With three boys, it gets hard to use it on my scrapbook pages, but I try to sneak it in every now and again.

2. I loooove collecting rocks! It drives my boys crazy though, because they end up carrying them for me. I mainly use them outdoors in my garden or on my patio, but you'll find them here and there indoors as well.

3. I have NO sense of direction. I tease that I could get lost in my own backyard. Garmin is my best friend!

4. My family and I have been IN, four of the five Great Lakes. Only Lake Superior left to conquer, but it's only a matter of time.

5. I don't like to cook. Now don't get me wrong, I love to BAKE...cookies, cakes, muffins (I've yet to make a pie). But cooking dinner? Not so much!

Meet Our Guest Blogger and Sneak #3!

Hello...It's Friday!!!! And we have a treat for you...it's Guest Blogging Time from our TSR Favorite!!!! So meet........

LAURA!!!

So, my name is Laura Kayra. I am from Finland but moved to Melbourne, Australia, a few years ago, together with my partner Paul and our gorgeous cat Sokeri. She is our baby and we love her to bits! Smile She has done a great job training us to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. What a spoiled little cat she is.

I have been scrapping for about 4 years now. Before that I mainly made cards. Once we moved here and I started visiting a nearby scrapbook shop, I just had to give scrapping a go... and of course, I got hooked! I looooove playing with paper. I think that is my favourite part of scrapbooking.. looking at all the pretty papers.. cutting.. glueing.. it is all fun! Oh, and all the pretty colours! I have mainly scrapped 12x12 layouts, but now I want to start making letter size ones only.

What I love about ScrapRoom:
The ScrapRoom is my absolute favorite place. I was really wanting to buy scrapping kits and looked at a lot of different shops, but I never seemed to find anything I liked. The kits I saw had too many papers from one range and big packets of embellies etc. Then I found my way to ScrapRoom and immediately fell in love with the kits. I love it that each month I get 4 different kits in one. There are so many pretty papers! I also actually love it that we get selection of embellishments. There are always enough to use with the papers, but not so many that there would always be lots of leftovers. Tammy does an amazing job at picking the papers and embellishments for us.

I suffer from anxiety and get easily overwhelmed. I have so many supplies and often, trying to start scrapping is too overwhelming because there is so much choice on what supplies to use. The ScrapRoom kits are perfect for me as when I start scrapping, I just pull out one bag and make a layout with whatever I find there. I love challenging myself to make it work! When I am finished, I just shovel everything back into the bag and put it away. So easy and clean and not the least bit overwhelming.

I also really love the choice of additional kits. If you scrap more, you can pick extra cardstock and papers as well as embellishments. Of course, if you love stamping, there is always something cute there for you to try! I don’t think that there is anything at all that I don’t like about ScrapRoom! Even the price of the kits is fantastic! Yippee!

5 random facts about me:
1. I love running around the house with my head down and arms stretched behind me, pretending to be superman.
2. I looooooooooooove pretty lights on trees! I actually squeal with excitement whenever we drive past a tree like that.
3. I consider myself a fairly good driver, but I cannot reverse park... nor reverse in a straight line.
4. I just tried welding for the first time and now I would love to learn more DIY stuff.
5. I don’t like mushrooms. The texture makes me gag. Eeek!

And here are few of Laura's fabulous layouts...

Thanks Laura! And Sneak #3.......

Our First Guest Blogger...Meet Savi!!

Happy Thursday! If you think back to last month, we started a brand new "thing" on our blog...our TSR Favorite. This is someone who LOVES The ScrapRoom, and the lucky lady was Savi!! But once you see what she shared with us, I kinda think we are the lucky ones. She is super talented and very, very funny! Anyhoo, meet Savi...

Hi! My name is Theresa Sovacool - y'all know me as Savi on the boards. I live in Litchfield, MN, with my husband, two boys (10 & 12), and two cats. Both my husband and I are engineers, so with work, kids, house, yard... camping, baseball, geocaching, fishing! - we get busy. Which is why scrapbooking is my thing: it lets me tell our stories in a fairly quick way. And it can be done instead of housework for a while before any of the boybarians really start to notice!

So... if I'm going to scrapbook, I'm going to do it with The ScrapRoom. I love TSR because of:
  • The kits! I researched the gee whiz out of kit clubs before I chose TSR. This one is simply the best - just the right amount of beautiful paper, perfectly coordinated cardstock, the hottest new embellies - and lots of add-ons for the over-achiever in me! Pages go together quick - everything works.
  • The blog! Challenges and inspiration - and sometimes a good laugh - can be found here pretty regularly.
  • The message board! This is my favorite place to hang. I used to say that I didn't have anyone to scrap with... I don't anymore. The gals on the board are supportive, positive, mostly funny, sometimes serious, helpful, wonderful people. I can honestly say that without the great gals on the board... I would not be here hosting this blog!
5 random facts about me that I'll bet you probably don't know (even though I'm a *bit* chatty on the boards):
  1. We name all of our animals after geological features or minerals. Our current cats are Cactolith and Bauxite. Yes, I'm a nerd.
  2. Speaking of nerd, I met a childhood hero a few years ago: Dr. Larry Agenbroad. Think mammoths. :)
  3. We've camped in 18 different MN state parks - only 54 more to go!
  4. I started wearing a lot of pink about 5 years ago... when my boys started "borrowing" boots, gloves, shirts, etc. My favorite color is really navy!
  5. I love a good cigar.
My two most favorite layouts are actually ones done fairly recently. One is made with the Prima Madeline doubleshot kit from this month (and a few scraps from an old Sassafras Lass kit - it was from a "mix your paper" challenge on the board - yikes!) and the other is made with the Echo Park For the Record kit from March.

Thanks for letting me host the blog - see you on the boards!
