Weekend Inspiration: Recipe Card Fun!

Let's wrap up our look at this month's OA Saturday Mornings layout kit with a peek at the Recipe Card layout that corresponds with the Saturday Mornings layout kit. With layers of patterned paper and space to show off several layouts across the center seam, this layout will the perfect structure to show off a progression of photos, like our Guest Designer, Deborah Doyno did here.

All of our March Recipe Cards are available for download in the Recipe Cards section of our website. Our recipe cards feature a 2-page layout, with cutting instructions and assembly directions, and we offer our customers one recipe card for each of the four layout kits featured in the Flavors of the Month Kit. The password to access the March Recipe Cards is located on the contents sheet that is included in the March FOTM Kit.

Daily Inspiration: Layout of the Day!

We're continuing our closer look at the October Afternoon Saturday Mornings line featured in our March ScrapRoom kits. Today's layout shows off another piece of patterned paper as the background piece for the page, and I love the way that Rochelle adds some strips of patterned papers in coordinating colors to break up the background pattern and add dimension and texture. I'm not usually comfortable using a full sheet of patterned paper as the background for a page, as I'm always afraid I'll overwhelm the photos. But, I absolutely love how both Rochelle and Brenda used the patterned paper as the page background and achieved great balance without overwhelming the photos. I definitely see some scraplifts in my immediate future!!

Let's take a look at a Project Life style layout using the October Afternoon Saturday Morning cards featured in our March Project Life Kit (still available for purchase on our website).

Layout by Aphra Bolyer. There's that adorable yellow clouds paper making an appearance again in the title block of the layout - and check out the enamel dots adding subtle dimension to the 3x4 card with the blue cloud stickers. I love that!

It's been awhile since October Afternoon has brought us a brand new line, so I was super-excited to hear the news that they were releasing and SHIPPING a brand new line, Saturday Mornings, during the first quarter of 2015! I love the whimsical nature of the paper and embellishments included in our March kits, so let's take a couple of days to take a closer look at the cute layouts our designers created with this new line.

Layout by Brenda Ragsdale. I loved this yellow cloud patterned paper when I saw it, and I love that Brenda used it as the background piece for this layout. It is featured without overwhelming the photos or the rest of the design.
