"This layout went together very quickly using the FFF formula. I fussy cut the fruit from patterned paper and used them as embellishments. I also outlined my papers with a pen to give each one some definition."

"This is the perfect page kit for my Florida vacation photos. I added the title stickers to a piece of white cardstock to help them stand out against the patterned paper."

"The Palm Beach collection in this FOTM kit from My Mind's Eye made me think of Hawaii. I have yet to scrap all the photos from a trip way back in 2005 so I went there and found these two of me and my son in one of the hotel pools. I really like how this combination of colors, prints and cute embellishments turned some rather bland photos into something pretty. This kit was a lot of fun to work with!

You are required to only use the dimensions in the formula, no more and no less. However, you are allowed to use any embellishments to enhance you layout and also cardstock to mat your photos.

"This layout came together very quickly using the FFF formula and I love the results. I inked the edges of the papers with black ink and made a tag with the 3x4 piece of paper from the formula. I used some stickers from the embellishment kit and letter stickers from my own supplies."

Crate Paper "Oasis" Page Kit Reveal & Inspiration

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!

This week, we are going to take a closer look at the "Flavors" (Page kits) that are in the

July Flavors of the Month Kit!

Let's start with the 

Crate Paper "Oasis" Page Kit:

Fun collection! 

Here's some inspiration from our Designers: 

"Sea, Sun, Fun"

Designer: Ashley Smith

Ashley said this about her layout:

"My favorite paper in this collection is the pink paper with the palm fronds and I wanted to make sure I could see plenty of it when I made the layout. I matted the photo on two pieces of patterned paper and folded up the edges around the picture to give it some texture and dimension. I wanted to keep the page fairly simple and keep the focus on the photo, so I put the embellishment clusters near the edges of the page. For repetition I made sure each embellishment cluster had a circular element and a little bit of gold. Sometimes I will handwrite my journaling, but the pink paper is a little busy, so I printed it on white cardstock and cut it into strips."

Ashley also used the Embellishment Add-On kit to create her layout.

"Right Here"

Designer: Steffanie Seiler

Stephanie said this about her layout:

"I started this page with one of the patterned papers in the kit as my background piece. It made for some nice subtle interest to my page which is overall pretty mellow in terms of color. I decided to do something fun with the other two pieces of patterned paper in the kit. Rather than just cut strips or blocks, I went to my Silhouette. I have always wanted to do an outline cut and fill with patterned paper. Since these photos were taken on Cape Cod, I went with an outline of the state of Massachusetts and filled with one of the smaller prints. With another print, I punched semi-circles creating a border at the bottom and also placing a few above my top photo for unity.

I have to say, this collection was very much out of my comfort zone. But I really like how it came together. The phrase stickers and other embellishments were fun to play with. And I LOVE how it all makes my photos pop!"

Stephanie also used the Embellishment Add-On kit and from her own stash - Twine, Washi Tape, Thickers, wood shapes, Silhouette cuts and circle punch.

July "JumpStart" Sketch Challenge and June Winners Announced!!!!

Good morning!

Welcome to the reveal of our July "JumpStart" Sketch Challenge 

and the announcement of the winners of our June Challenges!

 Here's the sketch for July:

Your challenge is to create a layout inspired by the sketch.

You can flip it, turn it, etc as long as we can tell your layout was inspired by the sketch.

"Celebrate the 4th"

Ashley:
"I started this layout by matting the white cardstock to the dark blue paper with stars. I knew I wanted to use the star patterned paper elsewhere on the layout so I cut the middle out before gluing down the white cardstock. Then I just had fun using the stickers and embellishments to make three groups on the page. I substituted a cluster of tags for the sun rays above the photos, and I tried to repeat some elements in each embellishment cluster by using stars in each one. For the title I used some Thickers, small letter stickers, and my own handwriting."

Everything Ashley used is included in the kit with the exception of the following items she used from her personal stash to complete her page:
Thickers, and Small Alpha Stickers
