Today, we are sharing this FUN layout by Suzanna:

"Look"

Here's what Suzanna said this about her layout:

"I was inspired by the patterned paper with all the little squares and really wanted to incorporate them, cut apart, into my layout. As I am a memory keeper who likes white space, not as many of those lovely little squares made it on my page as I had originally intended. Still, they punctuate the photos and fun embellishments well. The theme of those squares went perfectly with these photos about how my daughters non-traditional "pets" (the frog and hermit crab) are still alive. Suzanna said this about her layout:
"Confession time; Freaky Fast Friday was freaking me out. The whole idea intimidated me and nothing seemed fast about it at all. Well! I'm glad I gave it a shot because it really does help you! The secret is cutting colored cardstock ahead of time and constructing something that resembles a pattern for your layout. I have a few "recipes" that were potential options before settling on this configuration. Be sure to head over to YouTube to see how this came together!"

Suzanna shares this about her layout:

"These bright colors are right up my alley! I used a litte bit of all the patterned papers to back the cut file I made for my title. Then to compliment the colors, I added some mixed media in the background. A lot of it ends up covered up but you see just enough as the colors in the embellishments pop the layout. I did use one additional patterned paper that was not in the kit as I didn't want to use that green strip (it was WAY to bold for the letters). Be sure to check out my process video below!!"

"It's always striking to me how Simple Stories include both cream and white embellishments in the same collection. I loved the flowers in the cut apart card but they were on a more white based background so to incorporate that into the more cream based papers, I fussy cut them. "Ephemera for me has always played a support role in my projcts but these flowers and bird play a slightly different type of support. They feminize and make pretty a rather non-attractive picture. I also made my own digital cut file of one of the flowers in the CP patterned paper which you can download from my personal blog.

Suzanna Lee

I am Suzanna Lee; mother, wife, Physical Therapist, cat nap partner and a whole host of other titles! I have long had a hand in the crafting world but my love for patterned paper and fussy cutting began when we moved here to Glen Allen, Virginia and my paper collecting hobby became a paper cutting and layout creating hobby! My first gig as a Design Team member for our (now out of business) local scrapbook store led to another team and another and I have been going ever since. It is an honor to share with the papercrafting community new techniques, innovative ways to use product and share my love of paper, embellishments and preserving your memories all while being creative!

Over the years, I have had the honor and pleasure of working with several sketch/challenge, manufacturer and kit club design teams, and have had my layouts published in magazines and books. I have been blessed to design for Pebbles, Cocoa Daisy, Simple Stories, Just Nick, Stuck?! Sketches, Creative Scrappers, Scrapbook Generation, Imaginisce, The Twinery and Coordinations. I have been published in Scrapbook & Cards Today, Create, Creating Keepsakes, Cards, Scrapbook Trends and various online publications. I presently design for Cocoa Daisy and SpiegelMom Scraps. "Having already used this page kit, I had plenty left over and wanted to use it for another layout. Sketch challenges always peak my interest so I couldn't turn this one down!
