Week #52 Weekly Challenge!

Welcome to Week #52's Weekly Challenge! My family returned home late last night from a delightful Christmas vacation with extended family in Colorado. We had a wonderful time catching up and laughing with beloved family members that we don't get to see nearly as often as we'd like. This year, all of my husband's four siblings and their growing families were all assembled together for Christmas - and there are 30 of us! We could hardly find a room large enough to hold us all for our family gift exchange. Needless to say, we took lots of GROUP PHOTOS, so that will be the focus of this week's challenge.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Create a layout that includes at least (1) GROUP PHOTO in some form and upload your layout to the WEEK #52 CHALLENGE FOLDER. All layouts much be uploaded by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, January 4th.

THE PRIZE: This week we've got one more beautiful Christmas-themed prize package, featuring the Snowed In paper line from My Mind's Eye, along with coordinating embellishments from MME, Making Memories, and American Crafts destined to inspire some holiday scrapbook pages!

CHALLENGE RULES:There are only 2 rules if you want to enter a weekly challenge:
1.) Your submission has to be a new layout created for this challenge. :) You're on your honor here, but the idea of a Weekly Challenge is to finish new layouts and not simply upload old layouts. :) (Your actual layouts can be done in any size - 12x12, 8.5x11, 8x8... whichever size you scrapbook in!
2.) Please only submit one time for each weekly challenge!

Week #46 Weekly Challenge!

If you've never used an "Embellishment Cluster" on a layout, then you really must give it a go. Okay, I made up the phrase, "Embellishment Cluster", but you see this all of the time on layouts. An "embellishment cluster" is a grouping of 3 or more different smaller embellishments adhered close together in a cluster to form one larger eye-pleasing unit. This is a great technique to use if you need to add visual weight to a layout and you have several small coordinating embellishments that you can use to do this. It's a fun way to use up bits and pieces from your stash, and it gives an artsy feel to any layout.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Create a layout with an "embellishment cluster" of at least 3-5 embellishments.

Upload your layout to the following folder by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, November 23rd to be entered into the drawing: WEEK #46 CHALLENGE FOLDER

Here are a few examples of a "embellishment clusters" on a layout.

Week #45 Weekly Challenge!

As scrapbookers, our layouts often focus on the people that we love. We fill our scrapbooks with photos and memories of our family and friends, and we often forget to include layouts about ourselves. So, this week, your challenge is to make sure that you get a little bit of "you" into your scrapbooks.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Create a layout with at least one photo and some interesting facts or tidbits about YOU!

Upload your layout to the following folder by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, November 16th to be entered into the drawing: WEEK #45 CHALLENGE FOLDER

Check out our October Idea Gallery for several layout ideas with an "All About Me" theme. And, for lots of "All About Me" journaling prompts, be sure to visit our Goodie Giveaway threads on our message board. Each day's thread features a question of the day for you to answer. Choose a few questions, type up your answers and use these lists to form the basis of a layout that features YOU!

Here is a layout that I completed recently using (7) lists and one photo.

Week #42 Weekly Challenge

Due to some changes and a few technical issues that have occurred as we have migrated servers over the past couple of weeks, our online newsletter was delayed by a few days. Since we highlighted our monthly Sketch Challenge in the newsletter, we will be leaving the challenge from week #41 (October's Monthly Sketch) open for participation this week as well. We've got a new challenge for Week #42 below, but we will also be accepting entries in the Week #41 Sketch Challenge gallery throughout this week. If you are looking for the October Sketch Challenge, please refer to the Week #41 post below. :)

Week #42 Weekly Challenge:
Wallet-sized photos are all the rage! These smaller 2.5"x 3.5" size photos can be printed from most home printers on standard 4"x 6" printer paper, making them easy to acquire and economical (2 photos will fit on one 4"x 6" photo sheet). And, the smaller size makes them the perfect size to use as accent photos on any layout.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: Create a layout that contains at least (2) wallet-sized photos.

Upload your layout to the following folder by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, October 26th to be entered into the drawing: WEEK #42 CHALLENGE FOLDER

Here is an example of a layout created by Brenda Carpenter for our October Idea Gallery. Brenda used several wallet-sized photos to accent the focal point photo and to further illustrate her story.

THE PRIZE: Third time's a charm! WE'VE GOT ONE MORE 12X12 DOUBLE DECK PAPER PAD FROM COSMO CRICKET (48 sheets of Patterned Paper from the brand new Boyfriend and Earth Love paper lines.) Here's your last chance to win this great pack of patterned papers!!
