In today’s video, I’m sharing my second layout as a guest designer for The ScrapRoom using the Echo Park Summer Break collection. This double-page layout captures a golden summer evening at Lake Louisa with the boys tossing a football in the lake at sunset. I designed this layout from scratch, no sketch this time, because I had a vision in my head that I had to get on paper. You'll see how I mixed bold patterns, softened a busy background with white paint, and layered 3x4 cards to enhance the story, even with far-from-perfect photos. I also share how I fixed a few cutting mistakes along the way and embraced the perfectly imperfect process of memory keeping.
