TERRIFIC TUESDAY (Birthday Present #2) (and a GIVEAWAY!)
As part of our Birthday Month Celebration, we've got a series of Birthday Gifts from TSR to you all month long. We're "unwrapping" a new gift each Tuesday, and we've got Gift #2 for you today! (And, if you read all the way to the bottom, we'll be giving away one of these set to one lucky blog reader!!!)
The ScrapRoom has paired up with the most adorable Etsy Shop this month to bring you the absolute cutest companion set for ScrapRoom scrapbookers. Let me introduce you to Andrea from KNITTY BITTIES and her gorgeous fabric-pieced Camera Slipcovers and Coffee Cozies! I found Knitty Bitties last fall and purchased a Camera Slipcover and a Happy Little List-Taker. I was over-the-top impressed with the quality of the fabrics, the attention to detail in the sewing, and the way that she has an eye for combining different fabric colors and patterns to create really beautiful and interesting pieces. I immediately put my Slipcover over my Camera Strap and swooned at the adorable-ness of my once utilitarian-looking camera. It actually gave that black Canon some real personality, and you would not believe the number of compliments that I get on that camera strap!
In fact, I was so impressed with my Knitty Bitties items that I ordered more Happy Little List-Takers and another camera strap to give as Christmas gifts, and as I went to place my second order, I discovered that she had added a new item to her store - the cutest Coffee Cozies you've ever seen! I think I let out a little scream of delight when I saw them and immediately added two sets of the Coffee Cozies to my order as well. I gave Knitty Bitties goodies to everyone last year for Christmas, including my TSR Designers. :) They are the PERFECT gift for a coffee-drinking friends and family - not too pricey so you can stock up - but oh the joy they bring. I smile every time I see my pretty little Coffee Cozy. I keep one in my car and wrap it around my Starbucks cup whenever I treat myself to a latte on the go. I've even been known to wrap my Cozy around one of my to-go cups from home just because the pretty fabrics make me so happy. :)
Long introduction, I know, but I just want you all to know that I have lots of wonderful personal experience with Knitty Bitties products, and I just had to share this great find with you all. When talking with Andrea to come up with a special for ScrapRoom members (and blog readers), I couldn't decide between the Camera Slipcover or the Coffee Cozies, as both items support the two things we all have in common - our love of scrapbooking our photos and our love of kick-back-with-a-warm-beverage time. So, seeing my dilemma, Andrea agreed to include both items in her promotion! I couldn't be more excited to share this with you!
Andrea has created an exclusive ScrapRoom color combo just for us, which includes aqua, brown, and red. Our website is aqua and brown - and you can never go wrong by adding a pop of red to anything. :) So, here are the details!
ScrapRoom Limited Edition Happy Little Camera Strap Slipcover PLUS Coffee Coat in ScrapRoom Colorway - $22 (plus $3 s&h). (There are only 18 available in this color combination, so grab your set before they are gone!) PURCHASE YOUR SET HERE!
CAMERA STRAP SLIPCOVER: (All slipcovers are padded for comfort!)
COFFEE COZY: (You will receive one of the featured TSR fabrics on your Cozy. All Cozies are padded and lined with brown fabric on the backside.)
Promotional offer/code for ScrapRoom readers/customers: FREE "Happy Little Key Fob" on ANY order $15 or greater (fabric varies). Use code 'ScrapRoom' in Notes to Seller at checkout.
HAPPY LITTLE KEY FOB: These little babies are cute, strong, and allow you to slip your keys over your wrist. You've got your hands free for shopping and you won't lose your keys!
I also want to mention that Knitty Bitties is getting ready to start their annual "Handmade Holidays" promotion, which will start October 18th. All details are here on the Knitty Bitties Blog. You are not going to want to miss these great specials! (I know I'm going to be there on a couple of those dates to take advantage of the special pricing and custom fabric option. Although, I really must say that Andrea does such a beautiful job of combining colors and fabrics that you can't go wrong if you just leave it up to her!)
And finally, I'll close out this post with another gift... Andrea has kindly offered to give away one of the awesome TSR Camera Strap Slipcovers AND Coffee Cozy sets. Leave a comment below telling me how many people on your Christmas list would LOVE a Camera Strap Slipcover or a Coffee Cozy for Christmas! (Comments will close on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. CST, and we'll announce the winner shortly after that.)

TERRIFIC TUESDAY (Birthday Present #1)
As part of our Birthday Month, we've got a series of Birthday Gifts from TSR to you all month long. We're "unwrapping" a new gift each Tuesday, and we're kicking it off today!
If you've been a member of The ScrapRoom and hang out on our message board at all, you might know that we have one super-cool monthly challenge on our message board - and we've had this same challenge every month for, well, as long as I can remember. It's called our "GET MORE PAGES DONE CHALLENGE," and it's always the same: Create one layout or project with each of the four layout kits in the monthly Flavors of the Month kit and post your layouts or the link to those layouts in the challenge thread. If you post something from all four layout kits, then you're automatically entered in the drawing for a free layout kit.
This is our way of encouraging our customers to pull those kits out and "GET MORE PAGES DONE!"
Our gift to you this week is that we are upping the ante for this GMPD Challenge. Now, instead of giving away just one layout kit, we'll be giving away a FULL FLAVORS OF THE MONTH KIT. That's right... the winner will receive the next months' Flavors of the Month Kit for FREE - and what could possibly be better than FREE?!
Here is the link to our October "GET MORE PAGES DONE!" Challenge Forum with all of the details. So, start digging out those photos so that you can be ready to start creating some layouts as soon as your October Kits arrive in your mailboxes at the end of the week!

Week #40 Weekly Challenge!
I recently made a few hours to scrapbook this past month, and of course I pulled out the upcoming October kit. I found some photos in my stash that coordinated with the Bella Boulevard One Fall Day Layout Kit, pulled out my supplies and had a blast. One thing I did on several layouts was to layer page elements using pop dots. I have seen this as a trend recently, and I wanted to give it a try. I discovered that the cloud paper in this kit was PERFECT for creating layered pop-up elements. I cut out clouds and layered them on top of other clouds for depth and dimension.
Well, that was so much fun that I did it with other elements as well. I pop-dotted (yes, I'm using that made-up word as a verb) all sorts of elements... the apple in this layout (well, and I pop-dotted the clouds too because I couldn't resist)...
the row of circles on this layout...
and more clouds on this layout (what can I say)...
So, I started looking around, and I noticed that lots of others are pop-dotting too!
Jenny is pop-dotting...
Shawnna is pop-dotting...
Melanie is pop-dotting...
and Frances is pop-dotting...
shoot...Frances is even pop-dotting alphabets. Doesn't that look cool!
(I'm going to have to try that on a layout this week...)
THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: POP-DOT something on a layout this week! Everyone's doing it, and you'll probably find that you'll love doing it too! Upload your layout to the WEEK #40 CHALLENGE FOLDER. All layouts must be uploaded by 9:00 a.m. CST on Monday, October 12th.
THE PRIZE: This week's prize package features an great collection kit from Crate Paper's Little Sprout line, along with the coordinating Little Sprout stamp set. The collection kit includes twelve 12"x12" double-sided, heavy-weight, lightly textured papers (two each of six designs), 72 glitter diecuts, 5 glitter borders, and alphabet stickers. As always, with our Crate Paper prize packages, there is enough product included to create multiple pages or a theme album - or to share with a friend. :)
CHALLENGE RULES:There are only 2 rules if you want to enter a weekly challenge:
1.) Your submission has to be a new layout created for this challenge. :) You're on your honor here, but the idea of a Weekly Challenge is to finish new layouts and not simply upload old layouts. :) (Your actual layouts can be done in any size - 12x12, 8.5x11, 8x8... whichever size you scrapbook in!)
2.) Please only submit one time for each weekly challenge! (You will need to be registered on our message board to upload your layout to the Challenge Folder gallery. Registration just requires that we confirm your e-mail address so we know you're not a spammer. :) (In order to upload layouts to our gallery, you will need to be sure to resize layouts to no larger than 500x500 pixels and 72-75 dpi. If you're file size is much larger than that, you'll get an error message when attempting to upload. :) )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE SCRAPROOM!
We're celebrating 6 wonderful years in business at The ScrapRoom during the month of October. And, as we're in the habit of celebrating this milestone with gifts and goodies, we've got some great stuff planned for this year as well!
1.)We've opened up our BIRTHDAY BASH FORUM, and we'll be giving away a prize each day during the month of October! If you haven't already registered as a message board user, now is definitely the time to do that - cause you can't win if you don't play and you can't play if you aren't registered. (Registration on the message board doesn't commit you to purchase anything; it is just a necessary means to keep spammers from inundating our board.)
2.) Since I seem to be a nerdy fan of alliteration, we're introducing "TERRIFIC TUESDAYS" on the blog during the month of October. Each Tuesday during the month of October, we've got a "gift" for you here on our blog. Oh, the exciting stuff that we're going to be rolling out this month. I can hardly wait to share the details - but let's just suffice it to say that there are a lot of BIG SAVINGS in the works for our customers! Plan to check back here on Tuesdays to see what we've got in store for you!
3.) We're kicking off our brand new MOD Squad on our message board this month, and the MOD Squad members for the coming year wanted to do a little blog hop to introduce themselves to you all and to celebrate World Card-Making Day! They've got some fun stuff planned this month, so be sure to hop on over to Barb's blog for Stop #1 on the tour. :)
4.) The beautiful Birthday Card shown above was created by our Guest Designer, Frances Sylvia. Frances creates absolutely amazing layouts and cards, and I was so excited when she agreed to Guest Design for us for THREE months! Welcome Frances!
Hello my name is Frances Sylvia and I am from Many, Louisiana. I am a spoiled wife, mother of 4 (all under 9 years old…shew!), Junior High Remediation teacher, and a totally addicted scrapbooker. My greatest inspiration comes from my family and friends in the photos, but I am also inspired by sketches, patterned paper, and what I bought that week from the scrapbook store. Though my style seems to change as the wind blows, there are a few elements I can not leave off a layout these days, such as, hand or machine stitching, doodling, threaded buttons, inking, and layering. Since my time is mostly devoted to being a wife and mother, I believe that scrapbooking should be FUN!! There is no greater pleasure for me than to enjoy my family, put the kids to bed, and relive the memories that we created once again.
I have been a longtime fan of The Scraproom, and I am super excited to be Guest Designing for the next few months. I look forward to working with the talented design team, and thanks so much Tammy for this wonderful opportunity!

And, I leave you today with some inspiration from Frances using our October kits, which, by the way, have just been posted on our website! We're featuring some of my favorite paper lines from the Summer Show this month! I can't wait to make some time to scrapbook this weekend! You can see the full gallery HERE - oodles and gobs of great inspiration from all of our Baristas this month!
